Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator to support our account management and pricing functions within a high mix/high volume aerospace manufacturing environment. This hybrid role combines elements of quoting, pricing, customer support, and sales operations, playing a critical part in delivering competitive, accurate pricing that aligns with both internal cost structures and market dynamics. The Estimator will collaborate cross-functionally with Account Managers, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production teams to interpret technical documents, analyze data, and develop strategic quotes that support business growth. Key Responsibilities: + Serve as the primary pricing resource for Account Managers, supporting RFQs and customer pricing needs. + Develop strategic and tactical pricing proposals using internal cost data, pricing models, and market trends. + Analyze complex cost structures and review customer specifications (drawings, BOMs, routings) to generate competitive quotes. + Validate cost assumptions in coordination with internal teams and ensure alignment with product design. + Use ERP systems (JD Edwards E1, transitioning to Syteline) to manage quoting and costing activities. + Maintain strict compliance with SOX and AS9100 procedures in all quoting activities. + Present daily quoting metrics to Sales Management and track key KPIs such as quote cycle time and win rates. + Conduct peer reviews and implement corrective actions to maintain pricing accuracy. + Recommend process improvements through analysis and team collaboration. + Work independently to manage quote projects while adhering to deadlines and client specifications. Maintain accurate documentation of quote history, approvals, and customer communications. Requirements Qualifications: Required Education & Experience: + Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Math, or related field - OR - 7+ years of pricing/quoting experience in a manufacturing environment. + Strong working knowledge of pricing, quoting, and cost modeling in a high-mix/high-volume setting. + Experience working with technical products and interpreting drawings and specifications. Preferred Background: + Aerospace industry experience + Previous experience in a CSR, quoting, or sales support role (preferred over purely supplier or engineering backgrounds) Technical & Analytical Skills: + Advanced Excel (pivot tables, automation formulas, data modeling) + ERP systems experience - JD Edwards E1 and/or Syteline highly preferred + Strong analytical thinking and cost analysis skills + Excellent verbal and written communication + Ability to interpret and respond to market conditions and competitive pressures + Familiarity with AS9100 standards and compliance documentation Soft Skills: + Smart, motivated, and detail-oriented + Strong organizational and time management skills + Proactive and resourceful problem solver + Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet critical deadlines Flexible and able to work extended hours when required TalentMatch® ­Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
